Notes: The Sept. 15,
2015 press release announcing the two ads "Politician" and "100 Percent":
Club
for Growth Action Launches TV Ads Exposing Trump in Iowa
“Club for Growth Action is committed
to exposing Donald Trump for
the
liberal he is on economic policy.”
Washington, DC – Club for
Growth Action, a political arm of
the
Club for Growth, today announced the release of two 30-second
television ads that will air on broadcast, cable, and satellite
television in Iowa, and on digital platforms. The total ad buy exceeds
$1 million.
“Donald Trump is the worst Republican candidate on economic issues,”
said Club for Growth president David McIntosh. “It’s astonishing
that he’s even running as a Republican. Trump is the most liberal
candidate on fiscal policy in the whole field, with the possible
exception of Bernie Sanders. His angry style may reflect the deep
frustration Americans have with Washington leaders who have failed to
keep their promises. But the policies he’d implement would benefit
himself and his own interests, not the American people. That makes him
the worst kind of politician.
“Club for Growth Action is committed to exposing Trump for the liberal
he is on taxes, trade, health care, and eminent domain. These ads let
Trump speak for himself, about his Democrat core and his full support
for giving government the power to take private property and give it to
corporations.”

Donald
J. Trump Sends Club for Growth Scathing
Cease and Desist Letter Regarding Recent "Attack Ads"
(New York, NY) September 22nd, 2015 - Donald
J. Trump is
hitting back at the Club for Growth with a scathing cease and
desist letter detailing the false and defamatory "attack ads" released
last week claiming Mr. Trump supports the "highest tax
increase in history." The misleading ad fails to disclose the details
of Mr. Trumps proposal ("impose a onetime net worth tax of
14.25% on the super wealthy ... to pay off the national debt.") a
concept he suggested over fifteen years ago and has not supported
since. This is the very definition of libel.
Mr. Trump stated, "I am not surprised the
dishonest,
irrelevant and totally failing Club for Growth has resorted
to attacking the definitive front runner, especially after I refused to
contribute to their pathetic group. We will be releasing my current tax
proposal, which is a major decrease in taxes, in the next week and will
continue to expose the two faced hypocrisy of the Club for
Growth and the problems groups like this perpetuate within a broken
Washington, D.C."
Sadly, the deplorable actions of Club for Growth do
not
come as a surprise to the Trump campaign as it was only a few
short months ago that the Club very openly and shamelessly
attempted to extort Mr.Trump to the tune of $1 million in exchange
for political support When Mr. Trump, however, refused to
succumb to their extortionist demands, the only response was to falsely
defame Mr. Trump.
