CBS NEWS TO HOST GOP PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE IN GREENVILLE, S.C. ON SATURDAY, FEB. 13 AT 9:00 PM, ET AT THE PEACE CENTER

Google to Provide Real-Time Trends Data to All Platforms

Multi-Platform Coverage Kicks off at Noon on CBSN

            CBS News will offer multi-platform coverage of the Republican presidential candidates’ debate on Feb. 13, 2016 at the Peace Center in Greenville, S.C., including extensive coverage before, during and after the debate via CBSN, the 24/7 digital streaming news service. The debate, the final outing for the GOP before the key South Carolina primary, will air live on the CBS Television Network (9:00 PM-11:00 PM, ET/6:00 PM-8:00 PM, PT.)

            Joining FACE THE NATION anchor and principal moderator John Dickerson as panelists will be CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett and The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel.

CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 digital streaming news network, will offer a special 9:00 PM, ET/6:00 PM, PT stream of the debate, enhanced with key information onscreen including real-time Google Trends data and a curated Twitter stream. CBSN Anchor Elaine Quijano will kick off live coverage from New York at 12:00 PM, ET/9:00 AM, PT. CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes will anchor the pre-debate show beginning at 6:00 PM, ET/3:00 PM, PT live from the Peace Center and anchor post-debate coverage at 11:00 PM, ET/8:00 PM, PT. CBSN's live, anchored coverage will be available to users across all leading digital platforms, including key connected TV devices, mobile devices, and online.

           CBS News’ collaboration with Google will provide a state-of-the-art workspace for journalists, introducing new tools, technologies and interactive elements to enhance their live coverage from the Peace Center. 

           CBS Radio News will offer live, anchored coverage of the debate to its 600 affiliates in addition to providing three short form special reports every hour throughout the night. The debate coverage will be available on the CBS Radio News digital stream on Radio.com and on its iPhone and Android apps.

           Immediately after the debate, CBS Newspath correspondents will provide live reports to CBS affiliates around the country. Weijia Jiang and Craig Boswell will be in Greenville covering the debate and the news surrounding it.

           CBS News’ debate coverage will continue on Feb. 14, when Dickerson anchors FACE THE NATION live from the Peace Center in Greenville.
