THREE DOG NIGHT TO HEADLINE CLEVELAND 2016 HOST COMMITTEE WELCOME PARTY AT NORTH COAST HARBOR

CLEVELAND (July 16, 2016) - The Cleveland 2016 Host Committee announced today that rock and roll legends Three Dog Night will headline its welcome party - Rock the Night in CLE - before the 2016 Republican National Convention. The invitation-only event will welcome delegates and media to Cleveland and will take place on July 17 from 6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. at North Coast Harbor, from the Great Lakes Science Center front door through Voinovich Park. Approximately 10,000-12,000 people are expected to attend, as well as 500 VIPs.

The GRAMMY-nominated band's hits wind through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures - songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" crystallize the band's continuing popularity. Three Dog Night boasts some of the most remarkable statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets. The band had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including three number one singles, 11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, seven million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. Their hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country).

"We're thrilled to have this legendary rock band headline a celebration that will give visitors a truly authentic Cleveland experience," said David Gilbert, president and CEO of the Cleveland 2016 Host Committee. "Cleveland's rock and roll roots along with our phenomenal culinary scene will be on display to a national and international audience. It's an unparalleled opportunity to help change the narrative about Cleveland."

Live entertainment will also be provided by several local artists including Honey Bucket, Chris Allen Band, Megan Zurkey and Cats on Holiday. Guests will also enjoy a culinary smorgasbord featuring more than 50 local chefs, restaurants, breweries and food trucks, including many of Cleveland's nationally renowned chefs. James Beard Award-winning chef Jonathon Sawyer spearheaded the culinary community's participation to ensure guests were offered a true representation of Cleveland's food scene.

Attendees will also have access to the world's only Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Great Lakes Science Center and North Coast Harbor, as well as amazing views of the lakefront and Lake Erie. A fireworks extravaganza will end the evening. The evening is being sponsored by many of the Host Committee's significant local donors.

RESTAURANTS EMPHASIZE CITY PRIDE AND UNIQUENESS AT CLEVELAND HOST COMMITTEE'S WELCOME EVENT

CLEVELAND (July 16, 2016) - The Cleveland 2016 Host Committee today released a video that recognizes the many local restaurants and caterers that are participating in the Cleveland 2016 Host Committee's Welcome Party, "Rock the Night in CLE," on Sunday, July 17. The restaurant community's engagement and support underscores the Host Committee's message that showcasing Cleveland to Convention guests and media is about pride, not politics.

The video, which features Chef Jonathon Sawyer, will be shown at the event and highlights Cleveland's eclectic and unique culinary scene. Sawyer, along with Izzy Schachner from strEAT Mobile Bistro and others, led the effort to assemble the collection of restaurants, food trucks, caterers and baristas for the Welcome Party. In the video, Sawyer discusses the planning and collaboration needed for a successful event, and what it means for Cleveland.

"It's not political at all when you're talking about celebrating your city and putting it in the national limelight," Sawyer said. "Whether it's the Cavaliers' championship, the Gay Games, the RNC - we're getting an opportunity to show the world what our city is all about."

Thirty-five restaurants and 23 food trucks will serve more than 10,000 guests at North Coast Harbor on Sunday at the Welcome Party. Guests will be able to sample themed and specialty foods from the likes of The Pierogi Lady, Urban Farmer, Brewnuts and Betty's Bomb Ass Burgers, to name a few.

"The support of some of Cleveland's finest food and beverage institutions has been amazing," said David Gilbert, president and CEO, Cleveland 2016 Host Committee. "We at the Host Committee are grateful for the restaurant community's participation in this event. We are excited to share with our guests what locals already know - that Cleveland is a proud, collaborative city with an exceptional culinary scene."

An opening party is a Convention tradition where the host city welcomes guests to kick off the week and enjoy unique aspects of the city. As such, the Welcome Party is a private event for credentialed guests only.
