RNC Announces Credentials Committee Leadership

WASHINGTON – Today Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus announced former RNC Chairman Mike Duncan will serve as Chairman of the Committee on Credentials for the 2016 Republican National Convention. Doyle Webb, Chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, will serve as Co-Chair.

“I am excited to have Mike Duncan leading our Committee on Credentials,” said Chairman Priebus. “We are eager to work with all of our delegates to put a Republican president back in the White House, and Mike’s proven leadership makes him the right person to lead that effort.”

“It is a great honor to lead the Credentials Committee,” said Chairman Duncan. “We are going to ensure the Delegates and Alternates to the Convention are properly seated so we can nominate the next President and Vice President of the United States. Our delegates are motivated to come together around our eventual nominee in order to help lead our Party to victory this November.”

The Credentials Committee will receive the credentials of each delegate filed in accordance with the Rules and submit the temporary roll of the convention, which will have been previously reviewed by the RNC. The Credentials Committee may hear and resolve appeals to the ruling of any contest adjudicated by the RNC Committee on Contests, as to the seating of delegates to the convention.
