Vets for a Strong America Announces
“The Difference it Makes Bus Tour”

Summer Bus Tour to Expose Hillary Clinton Record on National Security

Washington, DC – Today Veterans for a Strong America (VSA) announced that this summer it will launch a national bus tour to call attention to former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s record on national security. VSA will use the tour to petition the Justice Department to hold Hillary Clinton accountable under the law.

Calling it “The Difference it Makes Bus Tour,” Vets for a Strong America will set out in early June by bus from San Diego, California and will stop and hold rallies in over a dozen cities where veterans’ and their families live and work including San Diego, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Omaha, Topeka, St. Louis, Louisville, Norfolk and Washington, D.C.

Along the way, VSA will be gathering comments and petition signatures from Americans coast to coast. The petition will then be hand-delivered to FBI Director James Comey and Attorney General Loretta Lynch at the conclusion of the tour at the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. The petition will demand that Mrs. Clinton be held to the same standard that others who have intentionally mishandled classified documents, including information that has been deemed “top secret”.

“Vets for a Strong America intends to spend the summer reminding people how Hillary Clinton’s record makes her a hypocrite,” said Joel Arends, U.S. Army Reserve Major and Chairman, Veterans for a Strong America. “We cannot have one standard of law for the elite political class and another for everyone else. We are a nation of laws and equal justice under the law. Therefore Mrs. Clinton must be held accountable for her actions.”

Joining the tour will be prominent members of the military including:

  • Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Wendy Rogers -- one of the first 100 women pilots in today's Air Force and recipient of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal;
  • Retired Air Force Major General Bentley Rayburn, who led the 388th Fighter Wing in 1995;
  • Retired Air Force Brigadier General Don Bacon, former commander of U.S. Strategic Command
Arends pointed out how Mrs. Clinton knowingly mishandled classified information and put our national security at risk. But instead of being held accountable, Arends notes, Clinton may get a pass.

Arends organized the bus tour to ensure that she does not get a pass. Mrs. Clinton has been accused of setting up a secret “homebrew” server instead of using government servers for official email and it has been shown that she has shared classified information including “top secret” documents using her personal email. Many believe Clinton was attempting to subvert the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) whereby unclassified information is made transparent to the public.

When the private server in her Chappaqua, New York home was exposed a year ago, she printed and delivered to the State Department the emails she self-selected with no oversight. She then wiped the hard drive attempting to erase all of the server’s contents including the thousands of official emails that are subject to FOIA. Later, when confronted with a congressional investigation, Clinton stonewalled.

Mrs. Clinton is also accused of lying to the families of the Benghazi victims telling them that September 11, 2012 attack of the American Consulate that resulted in the deaths of four Americans including Ambassador Christopher Stevens was the result of a YouTube video made by an American filmmaker.

“The Difference It Makes Bus Tour” was organized to force the Justice Department to hold Mrs. Clinton accountable for her illegal actions and to make Americans aware that she knowingly subverted the law, and lied to Americans including the victims’ families about the cause of the attacks in Benghazi.
