“THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH” RECORDS MOST-WATCHED MONTH EVER IN OCTOBER AND ANNOUNCES MULTI-BRAND SIMULCAST FOR LIVE ONE-HOUR ELECTION NIGHT SPECIAL

NEW YORK, November 3, 2016 – “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” approaches this presidential election next Tuesday, November 8 with a LIVE, one-hour “Democalypse 2016” Election Night special. This comes off a record-breaking October which was its most-watched month ever among total viewers and its highest-rated month since February among Adults 18-49 and Comedy Central’s target millennial demographic of Adults 18-34. In October, “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” was the highest-rated and most-watched, daily late night talk show among millennial men (18-34, 18-24) and #2 among all millennials (18-34, 18-24).

The LIVE, one-hour Election Night special, will be telecast on Comedy Central from 11:00 p.m. – midnight ET (8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. PT), and streamed via cc.com and the Comedy Central App. It will also be simulcast across MTV, VH1, Spike, TV Land and MTV2 for the 11:00 p.m. ET premiere. In addition to the simulcast of the special, “The Daily Show” will have a strong social media presence throughout the day as results are released.

Accentuating the show’s post-conventions bounce, overall linear viewership for “The Daily Show” was up +15% in October (1.4M total viewers P2+, Live +3), with ratings for the month up +16% among Adults 18-49, +16% among Adults 18-34, +22% among Adults 25-34 and +6% among Adults 18-24. Digital viewing also soared in October with full episode starts up +36% across digital platforms with the weeks of October 10 and 17 standing as the two best weeks in 2016 for digital full episode consumption. For October, “The Daily Show” added an average of 700K full episode streams per episode across digital platforms – a massive 50% digital boost per episode. Overall, in October “The Daily Show” reached a weekly, multiplatform audience of 8.6 million viewers across linear, VOD, digital and mobile platforms. As the only millennial host in late night, the audience for “The Daily Show” is expanding to better represent Noah’s generation, broadening its multicultural base of viewers who made up 25% of the adult 18-34 demographic and 20% of the adult 18-49 demographic during Noah’s first year, with increases in delivery of nearly +27% and +17%, respectively, vs. the prior year.

In addition to forming a strong linear base, fans of the show are consuming its content in greater numbers across digital and social platforms with more than one-third of consumption coming from digital platforms during Noah’s inaugural year vs. 16% for “The Daily Show” during the prior year. Since its premiere, multiplatform streams are up +57% for Noah’s “Daily Show” vs. the comparable time period in 2014-2015, driven by massive increases across Facebook (+255%) and YouTube (+185%).
