SiriusXM Announces Special Coverage of Election Night 2016

The one-of-a-kind programming lineup will air across a broad range of channels from news, to political analysis, comedy, and more

NEW YORK, Nov. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SiriusXM announced today that it will broadcast live Election Night programming across a wide variety of channels, offering fresh and insightful commentary spanning hard news, political opinion, humor, and more.

"On the night of this country's biggest political moment in years, SiriusXM will offer its listeners a truly all-inclusive experience," said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM. "Whether our more than 30 million subscribers want to receive immediate election results, be informed by the leading voices across the political spectrum, enjoy a good laugh, or simply have a place to sound off, SiriusXM will cover all of their Election Night needs."

Political junkies will be able to hear results and analysis from top political minds on SiriusXM Patriot (channel 125), P.O.T.U.S. (channel 124), and Progress (channel 127), which will extend live programming throughout the overnight hours. In addition to SiriusXM's original channels, cable news fans on the road won't have to miss a second of special coverage via SiriusXM's suite of news channels including CNN, Fox News, Fox News Headlines 24/7, and MSNBC (channels 114-118).

SiriusXM Patriot's David Webb, Andrew Wilkow, and Alex Marlow from Breitbart News will share primetime hosting duties, featuring live reporting, special guests, and analysis.  Cam Edwards of "Cam & Company from NRA News.com" and Tom Rose of Sirius XM's "Bauer & Rose" program will continue live coverage through 6:00 am ET, where they'll deliver breaking news on races too close to call and be a sounding board to discuss election results.

Starting at 6:00 pm ET on P.O.T.U.S., respected political journalists Julie Mason and Tim Farley will share hosting duties throughout the night, including up-to-the-minute dispatches from embedded reporters Jared Rizzi and Tom Basile at Clinton and Trump election headquarters, respectively. Rick Ungar, co-host of Sirius XM's "Steele & Ungar" and Senior Political Contributor at Forbes, will also report live from a bi-partisan watch party in the critical battleground state of Ohio.  POTUS remains live throughout the overnight hours to welcome listener calls and reaction.

Sirius XM Progress features primetime coverage with Michelangelo Signorile, Mark Thompson and Nomiki Konst. Ari Rabin-Havt, host of Sirius XM's The Agenda, will report live from Clinton headquarters. Coverage continues throughout the overnight with special programming hosted by Touré, Joe Subday, and Linda Sarsour, taking Progress listeners through breaking news and offering the opportunity for instant reaction.

Urban View (channel 126), which focuses on issues affecting the African-American community, will also present special coverage from 8:00 pm – 1:00 am ET. Political scientist and host Dr. Wilmer Leon will update listeners with the latest election results and news from the candidates' camps, while also speaking with guests and callers about their reactions to the results and opinions about the country's future.

Those looking for the latest results mixed with a healthy dosage of wit will find their needs met on SiriusXM Insight (channel 121). From 6:00 pm – 1:00 am ET, hosts Pete Dominick, John Fugelsang, and Dean Obeidallah will "Mock the Vote" and use their signature humor to send off the long, historic, and frequently tumultuous 2016 Election in style. Over on Channel 94, Comedy Greats becomes F* Politics once again, where you can call in to vent all your frustrations on the election or life in general to Donald Trump (impersonator J-L Cauvin), get your mojo on with Mojo Nixon, who will be live from 8:00 – 10:00 pm ET, and let your rage out with Nick DiPaolo's "DiPaolotics," the Liberal Rednecks, and much more!

SiriusXM's Radio Classics (channel 148) will also offer its fans a special election-themed treat. The channel will reach into the "Golden Age of Radio" vault to air "Gracie for President," starring George Burns and Gracie Allen. In 1940, the duo staged a mock election in which Gracie would actually "run" for president against President Eisenhower. SiriusXM will resurrect these classic episodes on the Saturday before Election Day, with back-to-back episodes running from 8:00 pm – 12:00 am ET and on Election Night from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm ET.
