Jan. 22, 2014-Despite freezing temperatures the 41st March for Life drew tens of thousands of pro-life activists from around the country.  The theme of this year's march was adoption. 
Christian singer and songwriter Matt Maher performed.

Patrick E. Kelly, chairman of the board of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, is also vice president for public policy for the Knights of Columbus.
Jeanne Monahan, president of the March for Life Education & Defense Fund, has modernized the event.  She even read a tweet from Pope Francis, "I join the March for Life in Washington with my prayers. May God help us respect all life, especially the most vulnerable."
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) backed by members of Congress, announced that "next week, the House will vote once and for all to end taxpayer funding for abortions."
U.S. Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), sponsor of the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," referred to by Majority Leader Cantor.  Congresswoman Vicki Hartzler (R-MO) also spoke.

Forty-one years after the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, the abortion issue remains as contentious as ever, with both side claiming the advantage. (press releases)
