Visits to Key Early States in the Pre-Campaign Period...Nov. 7, 2012-Nov. 4, 2014
REPUBLICANS | DEMOCRATS
The Clinton Freeze
In the pre-campaign period there were many more active potential Republican presidential candidates than potential Democrats. All told, looking at total visits and total days, potential 2016 Republican presidential candidates put in a bit less than three times as much time in the three early states as potential Democrats. The difference is commonly attributed to Hillary Clinton's heavyweight status as likely nominee deterring Democratic prospects. This page has been revised to include several Republican prospects who were not included in the orginal Nov. 2014 draft: Bolton, Ehrlich, Fiorina, Gilmore, Graham and Pataki.
