REPUBLICANS | DEMOCRATS
Activity Picks Up; Republicans Continue to Dominate
(June 30, 2015) - During this three-month period, the field included declared, exploratory, testing the waters and potential candidates, but by June 30 most of the candidates formally announced their candidacies. The Republican and Democratic campaigns were just about fully engaged with 14 declared Republican candidates (Kasich and Walker yet to announce) and four candidates seeking the Democratic nomination (Webb still exploratory). Not surprisingly, looking at these three early states one sees four times as many visits and days campaigning by Republican candidates compared to Democrats.

REPUBLICANS - 2ND QUARTER 2015
The number of visits and days spent in these three early states by Republican prospects has more than doubled compared to the 1st Quarter 2015 (total visits went from 80 to 176.5 and days from 124 to 271). The most active Republicans in terms of days spent in these three early states in the 2nd Quarter 2015 (April 1- June 30) were Santorum, Fiorina, Perry, Carson and Huckabee. Rubio stood out for doing the least travel to the three states in this period.
